I am Bianca Chapman, a salsa/bachata dancer, teacher, yogi, poet, and travel enthusiast.

I am The Traveling Salsera, dedicated to building community through movement and culture.

I’m currently available for consulting, training/performance/choreographies, and travel.

I’m based in San Diego, CA, but most likely in the window seat of an airplane right now.

After graduating with a degree in theatre and a master’s in creative writing, I spent over 12 years competing, performing, and teaching as a professional salsa and bachata dancer. Over time, I became more fascinated with the ways social dancing unites, examines, and exposes culture, not to mention the healing and empowering modalities of dance in every part of the world.

Performer and Competitor

As a competitor, I won numerous international competitions, including 2nd place in the World Latin Dance Cup for the Professional Bachata Division, the Professional Salsa On2 Division and the Los Angeles International Bachata competition featured on MTV. As a member of the world renowned Alma Latina Dance Company, I won 1st place in many World Summit competitions, including Pro-Am Bachata Teams and Pro-Am Salsa Teams division.

Teacher and Choreographer

I solidified my love for travel through my dance career. I performed and led dance workshops in South Korea, Nicaragua, Guatemala, United States, Honduras, Peru, China, Sweden, India, France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, Japan, French Guiana and more…

Creator

As a dancer, performer, and teacher, I am featured in numerous international dance conventions, publications, film, television, theatre, and stage productions. Love has been the guiding force in all of my artistic and academic journeys. My mantra is a revelry of movement through dance and language: love manifesting through movement.
